Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 August 2026
These terms govern your use of The Punt Edge, a subscription informational tool operated by Chris Beechey from Melbourne, Australia. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
We have written these in plain English. Where a term is a legal one (like "warranty" or "liability") we mean it in its ordinary legal sense. This is a v1 document intended to reflect how the service actually works. It will be updated as the service evolves.
1. About The Punt Edge
The Punt Edge is an informational tool. It analyses publicly available betting market data to identify opportunities where a bookmaker's price appears to differ from a sharp reference price. It shows you those opportunities and explains the underlying maths.
We are not a bookmaker. We do not accept bets. We do not hold customer funds. We are not affiliated with any bookmaker. Any betting you do is on third-party licensed bookmaker sites, subject to those bookmakers' own terms.
2. Who can use The Punt Edge
You must be at least 18 years old and located in a jurisdiction where using an informational tool of this kind is lawful. You are responsible for ensuring that any betting you do is lawful where you live.
You must not use the service if you have been excluded from gambling by a self-exclusion scheme, a bookmaker, or a court order. If you are experiencing gambling harm, please contact Gambling Help Online or call 1800 858 858 (24/7, Australia).
3. Your account
You need an account to use the service. We authenticate accounts through Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity under your account.
You must give us accurate account information. If you close your account, we may retain some data for legal, tax and audit purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Subscription, trial and billing
The service is offered by paid subscription. Current pricing, billing cycle (monthly or annual) and free-trial length are shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
The free trial (currently seven days) requires a valid payment method at signup. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription auto-renews and you are charged for the first paid period.
After the trial, your subscription auto-renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. If we ever change the price for existing subscribers, we will let you know before your next renewal so you can decide whether to continue.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep access until then.
We generally do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been billed in error, contact support@getthepuntedge.com and we will look into it in good faith. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- share your account with anyone else or resell access to it
- scrape, mass-download or systematically extract data from the service
- use automated tools, bots or scripts to interact with the service in ways not intended by the user interface
- attempt to reverse-engineer the service or its underlying calculations for the purpose of building a competing product
- use the service to break the law, defraud a bookmaker, or facilitate any other illegal activity
- interfere with the security, integrity or performance of the service
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these rules.
7. Odds data and no guarantee of profit
Odds shown in The Punt Edge come from third-party data providers and may be delayed, incomplete or occasionally incorrect. Bookmaker prices change constantly. You must always confirm the current price with the bookmaker before placing any bet.
Expected value (+EV) is a long-run statistical concept. Individual bets, losing streaks, and adverse variance are a normal part of betting even when the underlying maths is in your favour. We do not promise you will make a profit. We do not promise any given bet will win. Past performance is not a guide to future results.
Nothing in the service is financial advice or betting advice. It is educational and analytical information only.
8. Third-party bookmakers
When you place a bet, you do so directly with a third-party bookmaker under their terms. We have no relationship with those bookmakers, no visibility into your account with them, and no control over their pricing, promotions, restrictions or dispute processes. Any disputes you have with a bookmaker are between you and that bookmaker.
9. Intellectual property
The service, its interface, its methodology, its brand and its content are our intellectual property. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose while your subscription is active. You do not get any ownership rights.
Bets you log in the bet tracker belong to you and are treated as your data under our Privacy Policy.
10. Service availability
We do our best to keep the service running reliably but we do not offer a formal uptime commitment. Data ingestion, third-party API providers, hosting and payment processors can all have outages. We will act in good faith to resolve issues quickly.
We reserve the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. Where the change is material we will give reasonable notice via the site or by email.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. This includes any betting losses, missed opportunities, or losses caused by third-party bookmaker actions or by data errors from third-party providers. Our aggregate liability to you, for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service, is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a term of these terms would breach the Australian Consumer Law, it is read down so that it does not.
12. Termination
You can end your relationship with us at any time by cancelling your subscription and closing your account. We can suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service.
If we terminate your access without cause, we will refund any unused portion of your current paid period.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice. If you continue to use the service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Victoria unless the law requires otherwise. Nothing in this section prevents you from bringing a complaint to any regulator or ombudsman you are entitled to.
15. Contact
For any question about these terms, email support@getthepuntedge.com. Chris usually replies within a day.
